Light painting IS a series of photos taken in complete darkness at long exposure time while the photographer paints portions of the car with focused light. All of these exposures are then merged in post editing to reveal the best aspects of all the individual exposures.
These exposures are taken at extremely high resolution. The results are capable of being printed or displayed in large formats such as garage walls, large prints, billboards, etc.
